The late Israel-Palestine conflict has been dominating the media. However, what is the truth beyond the rumors and mountains of opinion? What lies beyond our scope of comprehension? Is it a problem of religion? A long line of conflict throughout history finally presenting itself? What is the truth? To answer these questions, let’s address the historical context of the conflict first.

To put things simply, the context must be clear. Starting from the 19th century, taking in a standpoint of Competing nationalism, Ottoman Palestine was a place where all three religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam co-existed in peace. In the late 19th century, the Austro-Hungarian Empire faced all of its states crying out for independence. Here, the Jews believed that they needed to move to Europe in hopes of building their own place, who are known as Zionists. With the help of the British government, Palestine was declared to be the home of the Jews. The real problem is that the British government promised Palestine to the Meccons and themselves.

After the British ruled Palestine, they claimed that they were merely supporting the country until it gained power to support itself. This led to various conflicts including the division between the three religions under their policies, a rapid amount of growth of Jews, and many conflicts rising from nationalism.

After World War 2, the British realized that the problem was too overbearing and handed it to the United Nations (UN). The UN created a partition to divide the Palestinian and Jewish state. While the Jewish state accepted, rejection from the Arab resulted in various conflicts and wars. The land in Israel grew, while Palestinians were constantly displaced.

They naturally began forming a group called HAMAS where their goal is dedicated to the destruction of Israel originating from nationalism. Their launch of a terror attack was the spark of this conflict and hence, the simplified history.

These are the fundamentals. In-depth studies are urgent to prevent amplifying this problem and understand what is happening around us.

As far as we know, this is far from the start of what the real truth is.
